Doing it with excellence Over the years, Backyard Paradise by SunCo has taken on some highly distinctive and complex projects, including a long list of projects that no other companies were willing or able to deliver. A recent example is a job in Beausejour – a small town east of Winnipeg whose French name translates to “nice stay.” The client there owned a beautiful lakefront home with a walkout basement, and a large deck off the kitchen that he could rarely use due to the powerful north-northeast winds that roll across the water. The solution was an elevated sunroom constructed ten feet off the ground, anchored to the back of the home and engineered to handle the site’s specific wind loads. The result transformed an unusable space into what Roger calls “a million-dollar view” – an enclosed, weatherproof oasis overlooking the lake, with privacy ensured by the natural positioning of neighbouring properties. “Those are the kind of projects where we really shine,” Roger says. “When nobody else has figured it out, our team comes to the table and says: we can do this with excellence.” JULYE 2026
