The Construction Source

The residential market was a competitive one, and Andrew admits the first few years were a grind. He always intended to get back to his roots in commercial contracting, but the opportunities weren’t there initially. When those opportunities did present themselves, he jumped on every one of them and he quickly built a strong reputation in that sector. Eventually, the bulk of the company’s work became commercial or multi-unit residential and the company grew from just Andrew and a couple guys to a team of roughly 46. These days, Flowtech’s projects range widely in terms of size and value. At one end of the spectrum, the company still takes service calls for a furnace that isn’t working or a water heater that needs replacing. At the other, they are executing multi-million dollar mechanical contracts on commercial builds. “We do everything,” Andrew says. “We have really good customers that have always been there for us, and we’re still working with them. Some of our relationships go all the way back to when the company first started.” Internally, many of Flowtech’s employees are similarly longstanding, with several going all the way back to 2013. That longevity is something Andrew takes pride in, and he connects it directly to the culture Flowtech works to maintain – one that is safety-oriented, growth-oriented, and committed to continued learning at every level.
