I’ll go unlock the shop myself, load a truck, and deliver it to the guys on site on a weekend. That’s what we do.” Problem solving is another area where Scaffex has built their reputation. With decades of hands-on experience between them, the team approaches every complex access challenge by designing custom sketches and solutions before a single piece of equipment is moved. Steve credits much of his problem-solving ability to an early mentor – Patrick Deschamps, the president of the company he came up in, a figure who shaped the way he thinks about scaffolding challenges from his earliest days in the field. “He always questioned how I was going to solve my problems when I was younger, directing sites at a younger age,” Steve recalls. “Over the years of him mentoring me, I give full credit to him – every time I had a question about a problem, he was there to answer it.” That foundation, combined with the collective experience of the Scaffex team, means clients frequently come to them with challenges they’ve been told aren’t solvable. “When I go on site and look at a problem that my clients think is not possible, we design them a sketch of what the scaffolding is going to look like, show it to the clients, and they quickly get on board – and then we build it.”
