He says they fought for the chance to quote for those builders, and when they won they proved themselves by delivering high quality solutions safely and efficiently. With every successful job, Scaffex’s reputation grew, and then the company grew accordingly – they grew their team, they expanded their capabilities, and they started taking on increasingly larger and more complex projects. These days, Scaffex specializes in the rental, sales, custom design, and expert installation and dismantling of scaffolding, shoring, swing stages, and construction fencing for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Those projects can range greatly in terms of size, scope and value – they can do anything from renting clients a single piece of equipment, to providing full access solutions to large-scale industrial and commercial projects. One of the most notable projects currently on Scaffex’s plate is the Centre Block Rehabilitation on Parliament Hill – a long-term federal project that will span 10-to-15 years in the heart of downtown Ottawa. On any given day, Scaffex has 20 to 30 workers on that site installing scaffolding throughout the building. But for Steve, the scale of the job doesn’t change the approach. “We do rentals that are a couple hundred dollars to multi-million dollar jobs,” he says. “For us, there’s no big or small.
