It’s all the trades we work with. Those are the guys that are really doing it.” Many of those trade relationships, Mike explains, go back decades. His electrician, for example, is someone he mentored from the age of 18 – he now owns his own business and has been working alongside Mike for roughly 25 years. His framer has a similar story – he started his career working with Mike almost 24 years ago, he now runs his own company, but they still work together on most of Mike’s builds. His plumber is a secondgeneration relationship – Mike started his career working with his dad, and when his dad retired the son took over and the relationship continued. “I’m very careful about choosing who I work with,” Mike says, “but once I find the right person, I’ve got their back, and they’ve got mine. The relationship works both ways.” Another example of a close-knit partner would be Final Touch Window Coverings, a locally-owned company located in nearby North Vancouver.
