Falkbuilt Halifax, owned by Stephen Vaslet and Anathea Fenton, is one such independentlyowned branch. Stephen has an extensive background in construction – his father and grandfather were both tradesmen, and he started his own career as a journeyman carpenter over 40 years ago. After a decade of working with tools in the field, he started his own project management consultant company. For the next three decades he worked as an owner’s representative on large-scale infrastructure projects. It was in that role he first saw the potential of off-site manufacturing for commercial interiors. Anathea has spent her career in the offsite manufacturing industry, working with hundreds of clients throughout North America to help deliver their interior fit-up projects. She worked with Mogens Smed at previous companies. Upon learning about Falkbuilt’s approach, she quickly grasped that it was unlike anything else in the market and addressed many of the challenges that had plagued the modular industry for decades.
