According to Faaris, Bona Vita is a project long in the making. He says they have been working on it since 2011 and late last year they were excited to finally start servicing the site. “At the moment, we’re completing a lot of environmental work in tandem with the City of Colwood to enhance the habitat around 594 Latoria,” he explains. “We’re particularly supporting Latoria Creek, which is a sensitive environmental ecological area that has been in disrepair for many years. We’ve been supportive and have been partaking in enhancing and restoring that creek.” Those rehabilitation efforts reflect the founding vision of Parsi Developments – which was to give back to the communities in which they work, and to create a positive impact in those communities that would be felt long into the future. Bona Vita will definitely have that lasting impact, Faaris says, because the project will be delivered with a “pretty unique building methodology.” He explains they will be building it as a light gauge steel structure, making it one of the first noncombustible high-end market-rental buildings in the Greater Victoria area. One of the main benefits of light gauge steel is its durability – light gauge steel can withstand adverse climatic scenarios, and design life predictions of light gauge steel buildings are often far in excess of 200 years.
