It really has an exponential positive effect to the whole site.” Brandon values the teamwork he sees exhibited by his employees and their joint effort to move projects forward. “Everybody has a role to play. Nobody is more important than anyone else,” he says. “I think we’re a very strong team. We all have the same goal.” TKI Construction employees between 35-40 people, Brandon says. “We have a team of individuals that are quite open to receiving help and providing help. That helps the whole company improve. If we’re all moving in the same direction, we’re all going to do well.” “I think that translates to our trades as well,” he says. explaining that he considers the trades the company works with “an extension of our team.” Looking ahead to what’s on the horizon for TKI Construction, Brandon says, “My goal before I retire is to make it into the top 50 contractors in Canada. That means that we need to be doing over $120 million a year worth of revenue. With today’s kind of dollars maybe by the time we get there, that number needs to get a little bigger.” NOVEMBER 2023
