Hawk River Construction is a longstanding Ontario company that provides all aspects of site preparation for residential and commercial applications. According to founder and owner Larry Hewitt, that emphasis on community has always been vital – in fact, he says the company was modelled after their community and its values: “We like to think that Hawk River represents the essence of Haliburton charm and wholeheartedness,” he says. “Our goal to provide the services and quality expected in a more demanding and often less friendly environment, and to do it with a sense of good nature and pleasantry.” When Larry first started the company, his goal was simply to do work that he could be proud of. Today, Hawk River’s service offering includes road building; septic system installation; excavation; drilling and blasting; and more – “basically the full site service package,” Larry says. Geographically, their reach extends to Haliburton; Minden; Highlands East; Algonquin Highlands, and the surrounding areas. In terms of project size, they do everything from removing fallen trees to $200,000 worth of lot work. Within that broad niche, Larry JUNE 2023
