Frontier Homes Quinte is a family-owned builder specializing in high-quality custom homes and renovations. Based out of Foxboro, Ontario, the award-winning company is passionate about building beautiful and functional homes and is deeply committed to environmental sustainability. “Being a family run business means we understand that family is number one,” says Brad Newbatt, founder and owner of Frontier Homes. “We put that into the homes we build and that’s why we say we build homes that we would live in. Homes that are warm and welcoming for you and the whole family.” Brad’s career path is somewhat different from many builders. He studied business administration in university and has worked in the automotive industry and in education. He explains that he taught for a while, then “got the building bug” when he built a home of his own after moving to Quinte. “I enjoyed building my own house,” he says. “I thought, let’s just build one house and see how it goes.” That led him to eventually step into homebuilding professionally on a solo basis with the goal of building one home at a time. He had a leaning toward custom homes due to their unique features and the opportunity to work with the homeowners on these projects. Frontier Homes Quinte was incorporated in August 2016 and has grown to a staff of five with seven homes currently under construction. While they do take on small projects like bathroom and bedroom renovations, Brad says the company’s main focus is on high-quality production and custom homes. Currently, they have two production sites – one in Belleville and one in Quinte West. Brad explains that he designs the homes himself. “I typically start from a blank piece of paper, and I design it myself.” He DECEMBER 2023
