To ensure that experience is a positive one, he says he is always “up-front and honest” with clients. “That’s a big thing for me,” he says. “When I look a customer in the eye and say ‘I’m going to do this for you,’ that means something to me. I’m all about integrity. That’s what my reputation is based on.” Dustin has been rewarded for his integrity not just by the Coaldale and District Chamber of Commerce, but also by his customers. He says that almost all of his work is generated from referrals, word of mouth, and even repeat clients. He says one of the most common pieces of feedback he gets from those satisfied clients is ‘You did what you said you were going to do.’ In the contracting business, that’s rarer feedback than it should be, but Dustin takes a lot of pride in making it true for Grizzly Ridge. Again, Dustin also takes a lot of pride in delivering to a high standard of quality, which is another thing clients are responding to. He credits that quality control partly to his own personal involvement – he’s heavily involved in every project the company undertakes and he personally conducts regular on-site inspections – but he also credits the skills and talent of his team, including his extended team of subcontractors and tradespeople. “We have relationships with subs and trades that go back 10 years,” Dustin says. “For example, our painter painted the second house we ever built, and he’s still with us.
