The founding beliefs of Leone Homes are the beliefs of founders Dennis Chan, CEO, and Manny Janda, President. The two of them have known each other since high school, but prior to teaming up they both worked as realtors who focused on working with builders and developers. They were both very hands-on, to the point that they realized they were basically directing the whole process. “We were doing everything,” Dennis recalls. “We were telling them where to buy, what to buy, what to build, what kind of layouts to do, what kind of designs were popular – we were doing it all.” In addition, both Dennis and Manny had experience with building. At the time, Dennis was running a secondary business doing lighting consultation for big commercial developments, and Manny’s family had a background in development and construction. They got together and realized they had both the knowledge and experience to develop and build for themselves – they just needed to take the leap. “So we found our own project,” Dennis says. “We designed it, we built it, and we also marketed it and sold it – because we were both licensed agents.” “That first project went well, so we kept doing it,” he adds. “The products we were doing were top-tier homes.
