The Construction Source

THE CONSTRUCTION SOURCE CANADA Jordan says the company’s successful approach to customer service is a credit to his experience in the industry, and to the good example that was set by his past employers. “I worked for a really good homebuilder here in town before I decided to go off on my own, and I had a lot of really good mentors,” he says. “They taught me the right way to do things and the right way to treat people.” Jordan also credits the company’s success to his employees and partners. He believes he has surrounded himself with team members who share his values, and that have his same commitment to both service and quality. That starts with his site supervisor – who he has worked with for many years, since even before the start of Grande Built Homes – and extends to the company’s roster of trades and suppliers. “Most of our team have been around since the beginning,” Jordan says. “A lot of them I got to know while working for other home builders.” “We’ve been through a lot together,” he adds. “It’s been a hard few years – even before COVID-19, the economy was hit pretty hard by oil and gas. But I am very happy to say that for probably 90 to 95 per cent of our tradespeople, we were able to sit down and figure it out. We were able to be creative with pricing, we were able to figure out how to do things a little bit differently, and we were able to savemoney and stay applicable. It’s been a real team effort. We’ve been successful because we’ve worked together.” “It hasn’t been an easy time to start a business,” Jordan continues, “but we’ve still been able to grow together. I’m excited to see what happens when the economy gets a little better.”
