The Construction Source

MAY 2026 The succession side of the business is also taking shape. Scott’s youngest son Aaron, who turns 35 this year, currently serves as chief operating officer and is being groomed to eventually take the helm. “He’s stepped up and he’s my succession in Shoreline,” Scott says. “As I get a few more years into this, I’ll step back a little more and he’ll take over.” The workforce reflects the same community-rooted values that have defined the Bailey family’s presence in Baie Verte for more than 60 years. Approximately 99 percent of Shoreline’s employees are local hires – which Scott personally takes a lot of pride in. Over the years, he says the company has evolved and changed a lot, but one thing that’s never changed – and never will – is their commitment to the community. “We’ve been here 60 years in business,” Scott says. “I think that says something for us. Our reputation precedes us. It’s important to us that we honour and maintain that reputation, and it’s important we keep giving back to the community, because the community has given us so much.”
