A lot of guys enjoy working out of town – the money is a little bit better for them, and it’s a different kind of experience.” Of those northern projects, the RCMP station in Deschambault Lake stands out as a particularly notable undertaking. That was a commercial modular build – meaning the modules are constructed near Saskatoon and then shipped to site, where the work of connecting everything begins. Because it’s an RCMP facility, there were also intense security demands. Even more, the project involved the implementation of solar ducting, which is a technology the team Flowtech had never worked with before. “All that combined made it really interesting and really fun,” Andrew says. “We have a team that loves a challenge and loves getting to do new things, and that project ticked all those boxes for us.” Moving forward, Flowtech’s goal is to take on more interesting and challenging projects like that one. They also want to keep doing more of what they are already doing, including commercial projects, northern community work, multi-unit residential work, and service work for homeowners. “We’re happy where we are,” he says. “We want to be able to take on commercial work, northern work, help out the Indigenous communities as much as we can.
