The Construction Source

MARCH 2026 That project is slated to start in the spring, with an 18-to-24-month timeline that allows for meticulous detailing at every step. On the multi-unit side, Riva Construction also has several exciting projects in the pipeline. Within the next couple of months, for example, they will be starting work on a 15-unit building, “and we’re going to do the whole thing with a panelized wall system.” Looking ahead, Matthew expects the trajectory to continue. “I’ve got a funny feeling that we’re going to continue to grow just based on the path we’ve been on,” he says. A natural next step may be a return to Matthew’s roots. “One of the natural transitions would be for us to expand into the commercial world,” he notes. “Myself, my operations manager, and some of our staff already come from that world. Truthfully, that experience has helped us grow so quickly as a residential homebuilding company – we’ve been able to apply commercial and industrial standards to project management and how we operate. That’s been very valuable. So getting back into commercial building seems to be the next logical transition for us.” No matter what sector they are working in, however, Matthew says his most important goal is to continue building good relationships with everyone involved in the company, from their clients, to their employees, to their subcontractors and suppliers. He says all those relationships have been critical to the company’s success so far, and he has no intention of taking any of them for granted.
