We will work with clients from the initial set up to the final dismantle to ensure that your job is a success.” Steve has personally been working in scaffolding most of his life – he and company president Yves Deschamps started in the industry when they were 14 years old, working in Ottawa’s downtown core during weekends and school breaks. “We just grew up liking scaffolding,” Steve recalls. “It’s all we know, basically.” When they were 23 years old, the company they were working for put their scaffolding division up for sale. Yves purchased it and that’s how Scaffex got started – with $5 million in debt and $50,000 in the bank. The following years were a “roller coaster ride,” but Yves and Steve put in the work to make the company successful.
