generated most of their work. “We’ve perpetuated a really good name in the industry,” she says. Of course, that good name is also a testament to the quality of work that Melchers Construction delivers. Elaine credits that quality to the excellence of their team, from their selection specialists, to their draftsmen, to their project managers, to their site supers, all the way to their general laborers and office staff. She says many of those team members have been around “close to 30 years with us now” – and she’s personally been there since 1999, so she’s seen that loyalty first hand. The company’s subcontractors also tend to be longstanding. Elaine believes the value of that longevity cannot be overstates: “They know what we’re looking for,” she explains. “They have a familiarity with the quality and the finish and the aesthetic that we expect. They know what you’re looking for and they’re able to execute it.” “We’re not opposed to using new trades by any means,” she adds, “but it’s handy when you have people that you know and trust and.
