We find a solution that works with you and adjusts as your needs change.” Lucas points to an engagement with Crosslinx Transit Solutions, the consortium behind Toronto’s Eglinton LRT. “We bring them in for a four-month term with specific square footage,” Lucas explains. “We also give them flexibility so that as they move product out, they’re only charged for the space they’re actually occupying. It gives them freedom to scale up and down as the project closes out. That project leads to them coming back six months later with another side project because the offering is so good.” Looking ahead, FlexSpace is focused on steady, purposeful growth – more facilities, an expanded customer base, and continuous improvement of internal processes and client experience. “Our goal in the next five years is to continue taking on facilities, grow our customer base, and keep improving the customer success experience,” Lucas says. “We want clients coming back month after month, project after project. That repeat business helps us grow, and it helps us learn what we did right.” That learning mindset includes owning mistakes and making them right. “You create more trust when something goes wrong and the client sees how hard you fight to fix it,” he explains. “We keep improving the process and making the business better.” The company’s vision is clear. “Our overarching goal, whether it takes five or 10 years, is to become Canada’s largest provider of storage and logistics for businesses,” says Lucas. “We discuss it monthly as our mission, and we’re moving steadily toward it every quarter. We believe we can get there as long as we stick to the values that set us apart.” “Ultimately, we rent space,” he concludes. “A lot of people can do that. What sets us apart is everything behind the space – our flexibility, our responsiveness, our willingness to go far to make sure clients are happy. We care, and it shows.”
