Still, technology is only one side of the responsiveness equation. The other side is having good people. “No business is where it is without its people,” Lucas says. “We have an amazing team. Everyone is willing to jump in. If our customer success team is unavailable and we see an urgent request, someone else steps in – whether that’s taking notes for the account manager or fully taking over the account for the day and meeting in person. We truly care.” FlexSpace also works with vendors who care. They recognize that so much of their service depends on vendor performance – including cleaners, painters, maintenance crews, carriers, and warehouse operators – and they make sure to treat those partners with respect and fairness. “If you treat the cleaners poorly, they won’t clean as well, and it trickles down everywhere,” Lucas explains. “If somebody likes working with you, they’ll work with you on pricing. If they think you’re a jerk, they’ll likely raise prices and not think twice. We don’t tolerate poor behaviour internally, and we hold ourselves to the same standard with partners.” THE CONSTRUCTION SOURCE CANADA
