FEBRUARY 2026 “We focus on being humble, hungry, and smart – and we add fun to that list,” he says. “Humble means being approachable and treating everyone with respect. Hungry is about hard work and always wanting to improve. Smart is having awareness of how our actions affect others. And fun matters because we build parks – parks are meant to be fun.” That mindset shows up on job sites as well. Colton notes that clients frequently comment on how pleasant and professional the crew is when interacting with community members and stakeholders. Looking ahead, Drop In Skateparks is focused on sustainable growth rather than rapid expansion. The company’s near-term goal is to operate two crews simultaneously, allowing it to complete more projects each year without sacrificing quality or customer service. “We’ve really hit our stride over the last few years,” Colton says. “We want to keep growing, but not so fast that we lose what makes us who we are.” That commitment to quality and service has not gone unnoticed. Drop In Skateparks was recognized by Corporate Vision Magazine with the ‘Best Skatepark Design Build Firm’ award and the ‘Customer Service Excellence Award’ as part of the publication’s Canadian Business Awards program – achievements that Colton credits to the effort and attitude of the entire team. At their core, Drop In Skateparks remains focused on a simple idea: building concrete skateparks that leave communities better than they were before. Whether the project is a small grassroots park or a large municipal facility, the goal is the same – to create a space that lasts for decades and brings people together.
