The Construction Source

In communities large and small across Western Canada and Ontario, concrete skateparks are doing more than giving skateboarders a place to ride. When thoughtfully designed and carefully built, they become gathering places – shared spaces that pull people together across generations. That philosophy sits at the heart of Drop In Skateparks. Based in St Pierre-Jolys, Manitoba, near Winnipeg, Drop In Skateparks designs and builds high-quality, cast-in-place concrete skateparks with a focus that extends well beyond the finished surface. Since the company was founded in 2018, their growth has been steady and intentional, shaped by a commitment to community involvement, craftsmanship, and long-term value. Today, Drop In Skateparks works throughout Canada , partnering with municipalities, advocacy groups, and grassroots organizers to deliver parks that reflect the people who will use them. The company was founded by Tim Reimer, who came into the business with hands-on experience installing precast skateparks as a subcontractor. In the early days, Drop In Skateparks followed that same precast model, pouring concrete ramps and elements in a facility before transporting them to site for installation. Over time, however, the company evolved their approach. “Since then, we’ve come away from that and we do everything pour-in-place on-site,” says Colton Froese, co-owner of Drop In Skateparks. “It’s a more skilled, labour-intensive process, but it saves on shipping and labour overall and gives higher value to our customers.” Colton joined the company in 2020, bringing a background in transportation and finance.
