Before long, a handful of his former colleagues sought Kaden out specifically, wanting to be part of what he was building. By the end of last year, the company had scaled to more than 10 employees. That growth came steadily and organically. In those first years, Kaden was working seven days a week – evenings, weekends, whatever it took – while still doing part-time work for his old boss. Kiwi Construction built roofs and garages across the city, and insurance restoration work filled a growing share of their schedule. Insurance work was a natural extension of everything Kaden had learned during his apprenticeship, and the company developed a reputation for handling full insurance claims from start to finish. “We were taking care of everything on an entire insurance claim just to make it easy for them,” Kaden explains. “We were subbing out electrical, plumbing, stucco, mud and tape – but we did pretty much everything else.” The breadth of their capability, combined with a willingness to take on any job regardless of size, made Kiwi Construction a reliable partner for restoration companies across the region.
