For more than 45 years, Uni-Jet Industrial Pipe Services has been a leader in Winnipeg’s large diameter sewer cleaning and inspection industry. Over the years, they have established and retained that leadership position through experience and passion for innovation, which has enabled them to design and build their own custom sewer cleaning equipment in-house. Using their custom equipment, they are capable of cleaning sewer assets of any diameter up to and beyond 850 meters between access points, and they can successfully tackle the difficult conditions and debris levels present in those large diameter sewers. Many of the companies in their industry are more focused on inspection than cleaning and simply can’t match that level of capability. “Uni-Jet was founded on the premise that we are a pipe cleaning company that also provides inspection services, not an inspection company that provides cleaning services,” explain Scott Collum, CEO. “This difference drives our innovation and equipment building process.” The vision for Uni-Jet originated with Morris Baziuk and his wife Ursula, who founded the company together back in 1979. Early on, Morris realized there was a lack of equipment available on the general market capable of handling large diameter pipes. The “off-the-shelf” equipment just wasn’t big enough to take on the kind of projects that Uni-Jet would become known for. To fill that gap, he started designing and building his own equipment.
