He wanted to provide something different. “We like to transform our clients visions into reality,” he explains. “We do that by sitting down with the client, running through the possibilities, running through concept, running through the layout, and finding what works for them within their budget.” That client-first philosophy has proven to be a powerful engine for growth. Lekadez Construction maintains a social media presence, but Olalekan says almost all of their business actually comes from past clients. “We believe so much in wordof-mouth advertisement and referrals,” he says. The pattern tends to repeat itself: a past client has friends over, those friends notice the quality of the work, ask who did it, and the phone starts ringing. “People just decide to go with us because of the trust they have in their friends,” Olalekan explains. “They believe their friends would never recommend somebody that is not trustworthy.” Earning that, Olalekan adds, largely down down to communication. “One thing we cherish so much is good communication with our clients. We don’t just take their projects and just disappear on them,” he says.
