Also interesting was the location. The project is located in a relatively remote community that requires a ferry to access. Despite that logistical challenge, Marmot Builders was able to deliver it in a compressed time frame. When they came aboard in November 2022, the drawings were only about 30 per cent complete. They ended up breaking ground in May of 2023 and the project was substantially complete only 24 months later. Jonathan gives a lot of the credit for that turnaround to his partner Preston, who was the lead project manager on the job. He also credits “veteran superintendent” Dwayne Ransom – due to Dwayne’s experience, he says they were able to “see problems before they happened and get ahead of them.” Furthermore, Jonathan shares the credit with the other members of the project team. He calls their subtrades who worked with them “amazing,” and he adds that “I would be remiss not to mention the design team.” Again, he calls those designers “outstanding,” and “one of the better design teams I’ve ever worked with.” Moving forward, Jonathan says the company’s goal is to continue building and maintaining relationships with project partners of that calibre.
