The Construction Source

Meaningful projects As previously mentioned, Marmot Builders recently wrapped up work on their largest project to date, a 27,000-square-foot community centre and administration building for the Cheslatta Carrier Nation. That project included a community hall capable of hosting 450 people, as well as a commercial kitchen that was professionally designed by a Real Seal Chef capable of feeding 450 people. The administration side of the building included offices, council chambers, storage rooms, and archive rooms. One interesting fact about that project is that it’s technically two buildings. Because there wasn’t enough of a water supply to support a fire suppression system, Marmot had to divide the building in half with a fire rated wall. Both buildings were able to utilize the same mechanical, HVAC, and electrical systems. SEPTEMBER 2025
