The Construction Source

Zulu Aggregates is a trusted provider of affordable, high-quality aggregate solutions based in Rocky View County, Alberta. Since forming in 2015 to serve a highway project in the town of Wainwright, they have steadily grown their team and expanded their service offering to include paving, road building, and asphalt production, and they have developed a proven track record of processing a wide range of products for the construction and heavy civil industries. Recently, they have also expanded geographically – earlier this year, for example, they launched a division in British Columbia, where they see a lot of opportunity and potential for growth. Reid Church, Zulu’s CEO, largely credits the company’s recent evolution to their people. At all levels, he says their team is composed of a group of “very hungry individuals.” “We’re a very persistent team,” he says. “There’s no quit in us. Things change daily in this industry, there are a lot of ups and downs, it can be emotional – but at the end of the day, we know we can count on the people we work with. Our people are the strength of this whole thing.” Reid personally comes from a deep background in the paving industry – his dad was in the industry, and during summers as a kid he would “go ride around in an asphalt truck or sit at the asphalt plant and watch the trucks get loaded.” At just 14 years old, he started working in the industry himself. In 2015, while working at another paving company, he rented some crushing gear and acquired that initial highway project in Wainwright. After completing that project successfully, he went on to earn some more work and transitioned to Zulu Aggregates full time. SEPTEMBER 2025
