All the best, The Editorial Team We will keep adding business units that enhance our offering and separate us from our competition. “ ” Editor From The Dear Reader, Welcome to the latest issue of Construction Source Canada, the magazine that highlights the best in building and building products across the country. In this edition, we’ve taken a look at a diverse array of contributors to the building industry, including companies that build homes, develop properties, design buildings, test materials, supply aggregate, and much more. Manga Hotel Group, for example, is a company that develops and manages hotels – since forming in the 1980s, they have steadily grown and evolved and expanded their portfolio to include 24 hotels comprising more than 6,000 rooms across Canada and the United States. We spoke to founder, president, and CEO Sukhdev Toor about his journey, which started with him purchasing a small Ontario motel shortly after immigrating to Canada. We also talked about the industry recognition the brand has achieved along the way, including their very recent Pinnacle Award for Company of the Year. Triple One Properties has a remarkably similar story – they are also an industry-leading and longstanding developer and manager of hospitality properties, in their case in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Their company was also founded by an immigrant who came to Canada with very little to his name and who rose the ranks of the hospitality industry, driven by a dedication to providing guests with the best experience possible. To tell their story, we spoke to the founder’s son, Sameer Mawji, the company’s executive vice president. He talked about how their success has always been powered by their relationships with all their key stakeholders – including their material suppliers, their contractors, their employees, and especially their guests. Then there’s Golpro Holdings and Zulu Aggregates – the former is an Ottawa-based commercial real estate company known for revitalizing heritage buildings, and the latter is a trusted provider of affordable, high-quality aggregate solutions based in Rocky View County, Alberta. We spoke to leaders from both companies and learned what’s powered their companies’ growth so far, their recent projects, and their ambitious visions for the future. For those stories – and more stories about other industry leaders across the construction spectrum – just keep reading.
