Sameer says they highly value that recognition, because they are “a reinforcement of what we do.” “They certify that we’re doing the right thing,” he says. “We’re accomplishing what we want to accomplish. We’re giving our guests the right kind of experience.” As also previously mentioned, Triple One Properties recently launched their largest project to date, the Hampton Inn in Downtown Calgary. Sameer describes that project as “very unique” for a variety of reasons. For example, the project is located on a narrow lot on 6th Avenue S.W., a very busy street in a bustling urban setting. That made access very challenging. “So we had to lobby the city tremendously to make them understand that in this situation, you don’t want a lay-by, because it’s a safety issue. When you’re on such a busy street and someone’s parked off to the side trying to unload their luggage and there are cars going by really fast – that leads to accidents. We didn’t want any part of that.” Instead, the project was designed so that traffic flowed through the property.
