Changing people’s minds Looking to the future, Minesh has ambitious plans for Laneway Pros. He sees the laneway home market as being valued at more than $19 billion, and he wants to seize “at least” five to 10 percent of that market within the next two-to-five years. “Our goal is to create a solution for the Canadian market,” he says. “We want to provide affordable housing with top-of-the-line services for a very reasonable price. We want to do it quickly. We want to build lots of it. The need is definitely there and we want to be the ones to meet that need.” The only real barrier to the company’s growth, Minesh believes, is the prevailing mindset in Canada about laneway homes both by the consumer and the municipalities. In other countries, their appeal is more widely recognized, but in Canada buyers at large haven’t yet come to recognize their many advantages, and they don’t understand how comfortable, affordable, environmentally friendly and luxurious they can be. Minesh intends to help shift that mindset. “You can have a laneway, multi-plex, or garden home with glass railings, quartz countertops, and beautiful kitchens, all for a price of 33 per cent less than a regular build, and in half the time of a regular build,” he says. “And you can have it built by a Tarion-licensed, forward thinking NET ZERO-ready builder that has its own financing provisions. It’s just a matter of making people see that.” Moving forward, Laneway Pros is also expanding into factory-built custom homes. For even the most bespoke customers, Minesh says they can use their solution to expedite the build process, saving their clients significant time, resources, and money. “Big things are coming our way and we are looking forward to being on the forefront of this wonderful movement,” he concludes. “We will work with our peers, municipalities and fellow Canadians to change the way we build homes in Canada.” SEPTEMBER 2025
