Adam credits that quality to the high calibre team they have assembled from top to bottom: “You have to right people in place,” he reiterates. “Starting from the beginning with your due diligence consultants, and then your design consultants, then the trades that you’re selecting, then the third-party testing and inspection agencies that you put in place – every single person every step of the way needs to know what they’re doing.” When it comes to selecting and vetting those team members, Adam says The GeoFocus Group looks for three things: “Availability is the best ability. That’s number one. We want to make sure that whoever we’re working with has the ability to keep up with us and keep up with our clients.” Secondly, the company looks for expertise – specifically expertise in the sector they are active in. They have learned from their experience in takeovers and turnarounds, so they know not to rely on designers, engineers and architects that haven’t built or designed in the field they are working in now. The third thing they look for in their extended team members, Adam explains, is “team players.” “We want partners who will come to the table with us and work as a team to figure things out,” he elaborates. “This is construction.
