Careful and controlled Currently, Dutra Architect is working on a wide variety of projects, as previously mentioned. As also previously mentioned, a lot of those jobs are for repeat clients. The veterinary office they are working on, for example, is for a franchise – they’ve done eight locations for them in Ontario, they’ve done another in Vancouver, and they have two more on the books. Since joining the firm, Michelle has also brought some of her own repeat clients to the table. Moving forward, Michelle and Brent intend to grow alongside their existing clients, and they also intend to keep adding new clients so long as they are the right fit, but they don’t want to grow too big or too quickly. They also don’t want to take on too much work at once – partly because they don’t want to risk compromising the quality of their output, and partly because they don’t want to add staff that they might not be able to retain long-term.
