For more than half a century, CEE Elevator Service has quietly maintained, serviced, modernized and installed the vertical transport landscape of Ontario. Based in Ajax and founded in 1978, this family-owned company has built a reputation not on advertising campaigns or award submissions, but on enduring client relationships, quality workmanship, and a willingness to take on the kinds of challenges others might avoid. Today, the company’s long legacy continues under the leadership of owner Kendra Morrissey and a dedicated team that includes Jeff Schmitt, who leads the company’s construction and modernization department. Having spent 23 years in the elevator industry, Jeff brings a wealth of field experience – from his beginnings as an apprentice and mechanic, to his current role as supervisor. His path reflects the kind of steady, hands-on progression that defines CEE Elevator Service as a whole. “I came from a competitor,” Jeff explains. “But I saw an opportunity to help continue building and strengthen the culture. My job isn’t to build elevators – it’s to build relationships that build elevators. Relationships are key for everything in life.” That relationship-building philosophy runs deep through every facet of the company. Whether it’s with clients, suppliers, or the crew of roughly 25 field mechanics, relationships form the backbone of CEE’s approach.
