Moving forward, they want to keep pursuing work in the hospitality sector – “that’s our specialty,” Ashwin says, “it’s what we do best” – but they also want to get more into the rental market. With the government fervently pushing for more affordable housing, they see a lot of opportunity in that rental space, and they intend to seize that opportunity. The company also sees opportunity in the condo market, and they recently acquired their Tarion license in order to explore that. Though the condo market is slow right now, Ashwin says there are “lots of people who have the land and have a project ready to go, but they don’t know how to build” – or at least, they don’t know how to build cost-effectively and make the project profitable.
