officially opened in 2017. In the years since, Dynamic Builders has worked on a wide variety of projects of all shapes and sizes, with values ranging from $3 million to $50 million. Geographically, their work has mainly taken place throughout Ontario, in locations ranging from Thunder Bay, to Ottawa, to Niagara Falls. Currently, they are in the process of opening a new office in Calgary, so they will soon be doing more work out west – they also hope to be doing larger-scale work, as they plan to enter the highrise market within the next couple years. No matter the size of the project, however, and no matter the locale, what sets Dynamic Builders apart is the control they can exercise of their projects. Because they have such a broad range of capabilities in-house, they can keep a tighter rein on costs and schedules then other companies. For example, during COVID, when steel prices were rising and other builders’ were project costs were rising accordingly, Dynamic Builders was able to keep their prices consistent – that was because they had a structural steel company, they saw prices rising ahead of time, and they made sure they had enough inventory to weather the storm. “So our clients weren’t suffering from inflation or market crunch pricing,” Ashwin recalls. “We didn’t have to raise the prices. That worked out really well for them.” Additionally, Dynamic Builders and their sister companies directly employ a lot of labour and tradespeople. Throughout the group, Ashwin estimates their team includes over 200 people.
