In all divisions, ECGI also works solely with subcontractors and tradespeople who share their values. According to JP, as property managers, they have developed a trusted network of trade professionals who all operate the same way they do – they are “very honest, very transparent, and they know what they’re doing.” As construction managers, ECGI also works with trades who are not just highly competent, but highly honest and communicative. According to Will, they also seek out subcontractors and trades that place a high value on cleanliness. “The number one compliment we get when we’re done a job is always about our team,” Will says. “It’s not just about the quality they delivered – it’s about how polite they were, how clean they kept the site, how much of a pleasure they were to deal with. That’s what we look for in our people. That’s what matters to us.” Moving forward, ECGI’s goal is to maintain their relationships with the subcontractors who earn that kind of feedback. They also hope to find more companies and people who demonstrate those qualities, and they hope to add those people and companies to their network in order to help facilitate the company’s growth – and ECGI is definitely growing. “We’ve put the work in, we’ve overhauled our systems, and now we fully expect to take a jump,” Will says. “Things are starting to align. Our next goal is to get to north of $5 million in annual revenue, and I think we’re well on our way.” As part of that growth, ECGI plans to soon add to the team – including a full-time project manager and an office staff. With those people in place, Will and JP are confident they can keep the momentum going. “We put in a lot of effort to grow the company last year, and that effort has really paid off,” JP concludes. “Everything is moving in the right direction.
