The firm has pioneered the use of sixstorey wood-frame buildings, cross-laminated timber, and rammed earth – often before local codes allowed them – by backing proposals with rigorous research and lifecycle analysis. “It took deep code studies and strong client relationships,” Dustin recalls. “But once proven, these methods gained traction.” Looking ahead, MMP is exploring adjacent sectors that build on their strengths. The education sector –public schools, university labs, libraries – is a natural fit.
