I don’t feel like I’m in a hamster wheel.” David believes a big part of why employees think that way is because the company is always growing, and always taking on new challenges. “A lot of tradesmen like that,” he says. “They don’t like doing the same thing all the time. They like that we’re always doing new things. We’re always looking at how we can do things better and faster. We’re always trying to integrate new technology into our business to give us a competitive edge. I think that keeps things interesting for our people. While technology can be challenging, everyone agrees that’s the direction we have to go.” Total Plumbing and Heating also enjoys longstanding relationships with their suppliers and vendors. David says many of those partners “have been there supporting us for as long as we’ve been in business.” He says those suppliers try to keep pricing competitive because they buy in bulk, and in return Total Plumbing and Heating is dedicated to paying them promptly and on time. Moving forward, David says his goal is to keep strengthening those relationships – with clients, employees, and suppliers – and together with those partners, keep growing the company. In the near future, he sees Total Plumbing and Heating growing to an employee count of over 100 and operating in even more locations across western Canada. Looking even further ahead, he actually hopes to employ a staff of at least 200 within the next decade. “Of course, the state of the economy is going to
