In the longterm, he anticipates they will likely end up cementing or paving more roads rather than relying on gravel, as they are one of the few local municipalities that don’t have access to gravel in their backyard. “All our gravel has got to be hauled in from elsewhere – and gravel is getting to be quite a cost,” Craig explains. “I think we’re probably going to have to look at making more permanent roads with permanent dust control, especially our heavy haul roads. That’s not going to be totally up to me, but I think that’s what the future has in store.”
