One of those sites is in Grise Fiord in Nunavut. “That’s one of the furthest north civilian-inhabited communities on the planet, and we’re doing work there,” Jake says. “So our ability to get into these remote locations – these locations that are difficult and cold and logistically complex – is a big part of what sets us apart. We have the ability to go where other people aren’t going and do work that other people aren’t doing there and be successful at it.” Doing that remote work, Jake adds, also gives their team a lot of confidence when it comes to working in more accessible locations, and it gives him the confidence to pursue jobs virtually anywhere. “We have the experience and the knowledge to go really far, and that makes us feel confident we can go further,” he says. “We’re already working in these remote communities. So what’s the difficulty about going to Jasper, for example? We’ve already been in some of the hardest places, and we’ve been successful there. So where can’t we go?” JUNE 2025
