The Construction Source

Looking ahead, Mehrdad sees British Columbia’s infrastructure pipeline – transit expansions, hydro upgrades, flood protection works, and municipal civil projects – as fertile ground for growth. He’s clear-eyed about financing challenges and bonding limits, but confident in Vallex’s positioning. “Infrastructure demand is inevitable,” he says. “Within three years, I believe we can grow tenfold – realistically – by scaling our safety, project-leadership capabilities and legal adaptabilities.” To support that tenfold expansion, Vallex is enhancing and refining its COR-compliant safety management system, and recruiting veteran project managers, geotechnical engineers, and field supervisors. Strategic joint ventures with other major trade contractors are also on the horizon, allowing Vallex to contribute its niche expertise in piling and deep foundations to megaprojects. Above all, the guiding principle remains constant: build from the ground up – both literally, in the earthworks Vallex delivers, and figuratively, in the strong relationships and sound business practices that underpin every project. “We’re here for the long haul,” Mehrdad concludes. “And as British Columbia grows, Vallex will be there – laying the foundations for tomorrow’s cities.” JULY 2025
