not we are going to have good chemistry working together. I like it when my customers and my guys can get along, because that just results in a better working relationship. If I meet a customer and I think there’s going to be a lot of friction and we’re not going to be able to work well together, I don’t try to push that job. I think that’s important. I think that leads to a lot of our success with client relations.” Glenn believes his success is also a result of his honesty and straightforwardness: “A lot of roofing companies have a salesman who will go in and speak of the shingle manufacturer’s talking points,” he says. “He’ll say ‘These shingles last 30 years,’ because that’s what it says on the brochure. Whereas I lead with my experience – with what I’ve seen. I know that the manufacturers say that the shingles are going to last 50 years, but when it comes to these types of shingles, they haven’t actually even been in existence for 50 years. I’ll be honest about that. I’ll be very realistic with clients.” Another thing that Glenn likes to tell clients, he says, is “the quality of the materials is always secondary to the quality of the install.” “I think people like to hear that. It doesn’t matter how much they spend on the materials, if they are installed incorrectly, they’re just not going to last.” Because Glenn has been in the industry for so long, he also has a lot of personal experience with what materials last the longest. That advice proves very valuable to clients. Additionally, he’s been around long enough to learn and improve; which he’s always eager to do – that sets him apart from some of the newer players on the market. THE CONSTRUCTION SOURCE CANADA
