Alwind Industries is a longstanding family business and an industry leader in the design of highperformance aluminum windows, curtain walls, and entrances. Since forming over 40 years ago, the company has successfully serviced commercial and institutional clients across Canada, building up a strong track record of product reliability and exceptional installation. Over the last decade, in particular, the business has grown by leaps and bounds – they have expanding their premises, modernized their equipment, and they are in the process of introducing new product lines. These days, Alwind Industries is led by Jeff Torcato, the company’s second-generation president. Jeff grew up around the industry – his father, Fernando Torcato, founded the company in 1985, and Jeff took an interest at an early age. He learned the business from the ground up. He started working there during summers in high school, and he worked in the plant, then in service, then on installations with a crew, and then he started his own crew. Eventually he became the sales manager, and when his father retired almost 10 years ago he took over as president. Under Jeff’s leadership, Alwind has grown significantly over the past decade. Early on in his tenure, they purchased a new building in Markham, Ontario in order to increase their production capacity. They are now looking at expanding that building in order to increase capacity even further. They also recently installed an addition on the back of the building in order to store more materials, in order to provide quicker production times for clients.
