Meraki employs about 360 people overall, and Bluepoint employs about 60, and many of whom are longstanding. Kevin admits that earning that loyalty is challenging, when the work is seasonal, but he says they do their best to secure year round work to keep their core people busy and to engage staff throughout the different seasons. Kevin also says that, at Meraki, “we pay people well and we treat people well.” Mathew agrees – he describes the company as having a “family feeling,” and in his time there he says he’s “never felt like a number.” He believes that feeling goes a long way. Bluepoint’s relationships with suppliers and subcontractors are also rooted in fairness, consistency, and mutual respect. Kevin believes those relationships are another key component of the company’s prolonged success. “I think Bluepoint – like all Meraki companies – is good at being loyal and maintaining a consistent suite of subcontractors and vendors,” he explains. “We work with the same people on a regular basis. That doesn’t mean that we’re not going to go out and see what else is out there from time to time, but we’re consistent and loyal to the people who show consistency and loyalty to us.
