The Construction Source

All the best, The Editorial Team We will keep adding business units that enhance our offering and separate us from our competition. “ ” Editor From The Dear Reader, Welcome to the latest issue of Construction Source Canada, the magazine that highlights the best in building and building products across the country. With this edition, our last of 2025, we were excited to look all over at Canada, at a range of developers, builders, and building services providers with operations spanning British Columbia to Ontario and every province in between. Goldeye Construction, the company on our cover, is a full service general contracting company based in London, Ontario. Since officially forming almost 20 years ago, they have built a trusted name in the region for delivering quality workmanship on tight deadlines. To learn how they built that reputation, we spoke with company founder and director Dave Rempel. He highlighted the advantages of having a larger crew – where most framing companies can frame between 25-to-30 houses per year, they frame anywhere from 600-to-700 homes per year. That capability allows them to mobilize quickly, service clients efficiently, and maintain a very strict standard of quality. According to Dave, “the three big things for builders are ‘servicing, schedule, and quality,’” and he’s built Goldeye into an industry leader by ticking all three of those boxes. Also featured in this issue is Facet Custom Builders, based in Cumberland, British Columbia. They are a custom home building and renovation company led by Silas Straathof and Drew Henderson. Drew joined the company early on and became a partner three years ago – we spoke to him about the company’s rapid evolution into one of the top custom builders in the Comox Valley, and about the hard work that’s gone into maintaining that position. We also highlighted some of the company’s recent projects, including their largest project to date, a major renovation on an archeologically sensitive site right beside the ocean. Drew talked about the challenges that went into designing a plan there that could actually be built, while still delivering an outcome worthy of the site. “It was a really unique property that warranted a special house on it,” he told us. “We all felt a responsibility to do something really amazing.” Then there’s Priority Builders, an Edmonton-based home renovation and remodelling company. On every project, their goal is to provide clients with “the best possible experience,” according to Sean Walford, owner and general manager. We talked to Sean about their process for achieving that goal. We also talked about their vision of becoming the city’s “number one renovation company.” For more stories like that, of companies all over the country – companies dedicated to services and committed to pushing the boundaries of quality – just keep flipping the pages. Until next year – have a happy holiday season, and thank you for reading!
