The Construction Source

have been able to come up with solutions, and construction is set to commence next month. Though difficult, Abhi says that process has been very rewarding: “We embrace those kinds of challenges,” he says. “I think if you don’t embrace challenges and difficulties, you’ll never grow. If you always take the easy way out, you’re going to be remain stuck where you are. So we’re not scared at all of challenges. We embrace the challenge, and we try to make sure we find a way to make it work.” Moving forward, Abhi says the vision is to continue taking on challenging projects, and to continue taking on a diverse array of them in a wide variety of sectors. Spline Group sees a lot of value in that diversity because it helps them stay busy all year round. “If one sector is down, another sector is probably up,” he explains. “During COVID, retail was down completely, and the condo markets were in boom – pretty much all of the projects out there were condos. These days, condos are down, but retail has opened up. Because we’re not restricted to one particular sector, we’ve been able to keep steady and busy. We haven’t had to lay off anyone. We haven’t had to reduce anyone’s hours or pay. That’s important to us.” As previously mentioned, Spline Group also aims to grow in terms of their personnel and premises. Ultimately, they intend to grow a team of somewhere between 25 and 30 people. At that size, Abhi is confident the firm will still be able to provide clients with the same level of quality and personal attention they have become known for. Ultimately, Abhi says Spline Group will keep growing so long as they can maintain the values that he and Gary founded the firm on. No matter how big they grow, he says the firm must remain responsive, reliable, and accountable. As long as those values hold true, he believes the sky is the limit. AUGUST 2025
