That home was a “modern reinterpretation of an old barn.” “It’s a very contemporary design,” Kieran describes. “It’s a home, it’s not a barn, but it has a warm barn-like feeling. There’s a big space in the living room that has the airiness of a barn. That’s what the owner was after. He loved the whole look and feel of an old barn on a farm, and our job was to translate that feeling in a home setting.” The client’s review of the finished product, Kieran says, was extremely positive. He says that kind of feedback is typical for their firm. “When you finish a project for a residential client and they’re satisfied, they pretty much become your friends,” he explains. “Because it’s a
