Head Honcho Builders & Restorations is a construction and restoration company based in Saint John, New Brunswick. They are company backed by more than 25 years’ experience doing everything from laying hardwood floor to building entire new homes. Since forming officially in 2010, they have completed a wide variety of work in their home region, and they built and maintained an industry-leading reputation for their honesty, reliability, and unrivalled quality of workmanship. “We pride ourselves in complete customer satisfaction,” says Terry Matser, founder and owner of the company. “We will never do anything doesn’t need to be done and we will work side by side with our clients to stay within budget and on schedule. We do only the highest quality of work.” Terry has personally been working in the building industry since he was 15 years old, when he left home and first got into carpentry. After earning about a decade’s worth of experience working for others, he made it his goal to start his own company and grow it into an industry leader – “my goal when I started was to be as big as Bird Construction,” he recalls. From the start, Head Honcho Builders & Restorations has been highly successful and has enjoyed a strong reputation, but growing the company hasn’t been as straightforward as Terry would have liked. Finding the right staff has long been a challenge, and Terry has always valued the quality of his product too highly to risk hiring the wrong staff. For several years, he ended up working completely by himself – for example, five or six years back he built a 2,600-square-foot home with a 500-square-foot attached garage, all by himself.
