in Integrated Engineering (a Project Management based degree with courses in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Materials Engineering) from the University of British Columbia, and then spent over five years working with PCL in Vancouver on large commercial projects. In 2018, he brought that experience home to Keith Construction, where he is now responsible for the successful scheduling, execution, monitoring and quality control of new home construction and renovation work. As the general manager of Keith Construction, Bryce is proudly following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Keith Dahlen, and father, Ken Dahlen – both industry veterans. Keith, for his part, worked in the construction industry for over 50 years before fully retiring. Ken, meanwhile, has been in the building industry for over 30 years, learning from his father. Ken took over the operation of the company in 1998, and under his leadership the business has evolved significantly in terms of size and reputation. In December 2016, he completed all of the courses necessary to obtain the designation of Master Residential Builder by the Canadian Home Builders Association, making him one of only a few Master Builders in the province. Ken’s wife, Karen Dahlen, is co-owner of Keith Construction, and has been working there over 25 years. She now oversees all financial operations in the company. Colton Dahlen is also involved – like Bryce, he represents the third generation of the family business. Colton has a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Victoria, and he recently joined Keith Construction as a project THE CONSTRUCTION SOURCE CANADA
